Ѕоујаkѕ
Ѕоујаkѕ, also known as Soyboy Wojaks, are humorous depictions of effeminate males called soy boys drawn usually in a black and white drawing, based off the Wojak drawing from 2008-2009. Soyjaks and their use has become its own subculture, originally on the now-defunct Question & Answer board of the website 4chan, and now on Ѕоујаk.party and other websites known collectively as the Soysphere, where a community of individuals known as soyteens have gathered. Ѕоујаkѕ are traditionally used to imply that one's opponent is, in fact, a soy boy who looks like these depictions and says whatever is being quoted (usually their own past words). Two people may quote each other back and forth with Ѕоујаkѕ in a competitive event known as a soyduel.

Although the exact origin of Ѕоујаkѕ is a contentious topic, with multiple proto-sоујаkѕ being discussed as potential first Ѕоујаkѕ, most agree that the Soyak image created by the artist known as The Swede on December 30th, 2017 is the first instance to meet all the known characteristics of a Ѕоујаk.
As an art form edit
Although the concept of 'jakking is frequently dismissed as strawman argumentation by the masses and criticized by other people, 'jakking and it's culture has been acknowledged by some spectators as a form of subversive commentary on modern human nature, as well as expressionist and sometimes (as the CIA would put it) surrealist art, especially in regard to its following, wide variety of images, and their literary contexts produced as a result.
The vast majority of Ѕоујаkѕ are not anti-aliased. This means that they are easy to edit without having the struggle to remove the blurry lines, even with basic software like Microsoft Paint. As a result, Ѕоујаkѕ can be quickly modified to create personalized attacks on individuals of any race, creed, color, nationality, or gender. An excess of these Ѕоујаkѕ can be found on the SoyBooru, a website that serves as a repository of them.
Although originally designed to mock a certain kind of stereotypical, left-leaning, media-consuming male, Ѕоујаkѕ have evolved far beyond their original scope and can now be used to represent any being or object, or even oneself.

Ѕоујаk, also known as soyak or soijak, is a high quality, untraced, well drawn edit of the Wojak face as a soy boy. His characteristic features are his glasses, scraggly beard, and usually wide open mouth. The wide-mouthed expression he often has is known as the "Soylent Grin", and usually indicates that he is happy.

Soyjak in his most well-known form, the "classic soyjak variant", was first posted to /int/ by a Swede on December 30th, 2017. (swedish win btw)
On September 1 2021, Soyjak historians on /qa/ unearthed bombshell evidence that called into question everything we know about the origin of Soyjak by discovering possible "first jak" candidates which pre-dated the timescale for the previously-accepted "Out of Swedish Win" theory.
As of 2025, research into this topic is still ongoing.
Early life edit
Soyjak was born in San Francisco, California. Throughout his life, he always happily took whatever meds he was prescribed by Dr. Soyberg, washed down with soymilk. He was fed processed, microwaved and frozen food with poor nutrition as a child, which is the reason he has fucked up hormones and is 5'1 (155 cm) in height today.
He graduated from UC, berkeley with computer science degree and now works at apple
He still resides in California today, married to his wife, Megan. Together they had Nate and caca.
A24 Slow-Burn Soyjak edit
The A24 Slow-Burn Soyjak (often shortened to just A24) is a popular soyjak variant. He is the second-oldest soyjak, releasing just under 4 months after the original. He is also the first soyjak to be traced from a real-life soyboy instead of being a Wojak derivative.

On March 23, 2018, /tv/ exploded with discussion and mockery pertaining to the YouTube reactor James' Youniverse and his over-the-top soyface reaction to capeshit movie trailers. The same day, somebody traced a soyjak of him and uploaded it to one of the mockery threads under the filename soy.png.
Naming edit
During and preceding the marketing campaign for The Lighthouse in mid-2019, the as-of-then unnamed soyjak became heavily associated with bone-chilling, character-development-driven, cheap-jumpscares-free, emotionally-draining, slow-burn "horror kino" created by A24, due to a Gigachad spammer with some kind of vendetta. The connection has stuck ever since.
Feraljak edit
Feraljak, also known as Eat The Bugs Soyjak, and You WILL Soyjak, is a soyjak variant composed of a semi-realistic soy face looking at the viewer with a vaguely angry expression. Despite a strong tendency to follow rules, he demonstrates extremely violent impulses and is known to easily fly into fits of rage.[1][2][3] Feraljak is a vocal proponent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Veganism.
On November 27, 2024, Feraljak was diagnosed with autism.[4]
Markiplier Ѕоујаk edit
Markiplier Soyjak is the 3rd oldest Ѕоујаk and one of the most ubiquitous Ѕоујаk variants. It is based off of the popular youtuber Markiplier, specifically an old photo he posted on Twitter back in June 2014. The most common variant is probably the bald version depicted on this page, although the original is also quite common. There also exists a newer version that is much less popular. Markiplier Ѕоујаk is a member of the Ѕоујаk Trio.
It appears the mouth of this 'jak is simply the original Ѕоујаk's mouth stretched out. You will NOT investigate this further.
Tony Soprano Ѕоујаk edit

Tony Soprano Ѕоујаk, also known as Soyprano, is a soyjak variant best known for being a member of the Ѕоујаk Trio. He was created on 4cuck's /tv/ board in October 2019. Tony Soprano Ѕоујаk is a rather unversatile 'jak, being difficult to edit with, being faced to the side and having many parts of his head not in use, and also difficult to self-insert with. Some consider him dead, even though he still gets edits every month or so.
Tony Soprano Ѕоујаk is of Italian descent, and resides in North Jersey. He enjoys consuming gabagool. He works as a legitmate waste management consultant (fact-checked). He enjoys taking his medication, and visits his psychiatrist several times a week. He has a keen interest in ducks, as well as horse racing. He also has a chud-like interest in World War 2 history, and is a Mussolini apologist.
The 'jak is traced from the character Tony Soprano (portrayed by the late actor James Gandolfini) from the award-winning, genre-redefining, see-it-before-you-die, 86 episode-long, 1999-2007 HBO series The Sopranos. The particular scene where the Ѕоујаk is traced from comes from Season 4 Episode 5 "Pie-O-My" (originally aired October 13, 2002), around the 52 minute mark. Here, we see Tony become slightly annoyed at his wife, Carmela (portrayed by actress Edie Falco), for leaving the door to the master bathroom open while she is loudly blow-drying her hair. Tony is lying in bed trying to hear the bedroom TV, but he cannot hear it over the blow-dryer. Naturally, he utters the line "Carmela, could you please shut the door" while yelling in a rather high tone so Carmela can hear Tony's voice over the blow-dryer. During his yelling, Mr. Soprano bears a face that is remarkably soy, with his mouth agape. This screenshot would later be traced into a Ѕоујаk. It is quite odd for Tony Soprano to be a fore-bearer of a Ѕоујаk, as Tony's personality is quite masculine and not really soy at all.
He is frequently cited in arguments about what is IAS, as an example of a beardless soyjak. There have been edits that try to make him fresh, or add the beard, but none of them have taken off. This is usually because they're iron edits. Another reason might be because soyteens are too irony poisoned to accept a vanilla looking Ѕоујаk, and because of the existent front facing self-insert Ѕоујаk meta.
Gapejak edit
Gapejak (also known as Cobson, and previously known as Guinness World Record Ѕоујаk, Screaming Ѕоујаk, Schizophrenia Ѕоујаk, and ScreamingbaldЅоујаk) is a Ѕоујаk with a uniquely shaped head and a large mouth. His name comes from the image he was based on, showing the former 2016 German Guinness world record holder Bernd Schmidt for the largest mouth gape. This Ѕоујаk and Ѕоујаks from his bloodline are often edited into new variants.
This Ѕоујаk can be highly unpredictable. Sometimes he has good intentions, as seen in the Wholesome Ѕоујаk variant, but even the wholesome variant has (intentionally or unintentionally) done bad things. The angry mask-wearing variant, much like Eat The Bugs Ѕоујаk, militantly supports every tenet of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
According to the Booru, Gapejak is the second most popular variant (it used to be the most popular before getting overtaken by Chudjak), although this is likely due to the large number of subvariants made from him. As of December 16th, 2024, he has the third highest number of posts (10,843), and he is one of only four to have over 10,000 posts on the Booru (the others being Cobson, Chudjak and Soyak.) If one counts Impish Soyak Ears as a subvariant of Gapejak, Gapejak would blow everyone else out of the water, with over 16,000 posts (combined).
